A Special Project by Neusroom
As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to cause devastating impact across the world, we’ve taken cognizance of those who have been working hard, putting themselves on the line, and taking all the bruises to make things better. With an unprecedented death toll of more than 520,000 people out of over 10.9 million cases globally, the novel Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is perhaps the most tragic humanitarian crisis of the 21st century.
It is for this reason that the Neusroom 100 Project was undertaken to highlight and celebrate those whose contributions have helped in no small ways. While we would have loved to acknowledge everyone for their sacrifices, however big or small, Neusroom editors have settled for a non exhaustive group of 100 people, organizations, countries, and things helping the world conquer COVID-19. The people who have played important roles in the response against COVID-19 make up 40% of the list, while the organizations that have been championing material response take up 30%. Countries at the forefront of combating the pandemic and its effects around the world have 20% and the remaining 10% goes to the vital things that have been of immense help in dealing with the pandemic.
